The Harper College Diverse Faculty Fellow program is an important part of the college’s focus on diversity and inclusion, which seeks to better reflect the increasing diversity of its student body and the surrounding community in its faculty workforce.
This paid fellowship is open to candidates who have earned a master’s or higher in American Sign Language, Deaf Studies, or closely related field during the 2021-2022 academic year. This fellowship may also be appropriate for those who have earned a master’s or doctorate prior to the 2021-2022 academic year but have no previous teaching experience as a full-time instructor.
Harper College seeks applicants with the potential to teach full-time. Candidates should have expertise in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies.
Special consideration will be given to applicants who are members of racial and ethnic groups historically underrepresented in faculty positions in higher education.
Requirements:
• At least a Master’s degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Studies, or closely related field. ASLTA certification and ASLPI score of at least level 4 required
