Nominate Your IEP for the SVRS Excellence and Innovation in Interpreter Education Award

Applications are now being accepted for the 2016 SVRS Excellence and Innovation in Interpreter Education Award. This award recognizes outstanding IEPs that leverage technology in their curriculum. The award includes an $8,000 endowment to be reinvested in the IEP as well as a $2,000 credit to be used for the direct purchase of materials to be used in the IEP. Additionally, the winning IEP will be spotlighted in a best-practices Innovators Showcase, to be held on the campus of the college or university of the winning IEP. Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2016.

VRS Interpreting Institute School-to-Work Program Applications
Now Being Accepted  

Encourage your IEP graduates to apply now for the VRS Interpreting Institute (VRSII) School-to-Work (STW) Program. STW is an emersion program that helps IEP graduates bridge the gap from graduation to work readiness as a professional interpreter. The eight-week program provides one-on-one mentoring, additional training, professional internships and experiences in the Deaf community. Past STW graduates call the STW experience “life changing.”
Applications for the 2016 summer session of the STW Program are now being accepted online. The application deadline is Feb. 12, 2015.
