Hello CIT members! As you all know the CIT conference is in Portland, Oregon this year. It will be a great conference and we look forward to seeing you there! Please be sure to check out the conference as the schedule of events are posted on our website. An important part of our conference is the business meeting. This year our business meeting will be held on October 31, 2014. If you have a motion, you need to fill out the motion form and submit it no later than Thursday October 30, 2014. Motions can be submitted starting now using the electronic link. Remember you must have a person second your motion. There is a place to put the name of the person who is seconding your motion on the motion form. Motions submitted by October 1, 2014 will have priority. We will accept motions electronically until October 30, 2014. However, based on the number of motions, we may not have time to discuss them at the business meeting and they will have to be referred to the CIT board. Motions can be submitted electronically. Only members can log in to submit a motion.

If you want to be eligible to vote during the business meeting, you must be a full member. You also must have joined CIT at least 60 days prior to the business meeting. This means you need to join as a full member by August 29, 2014. Only full members can vote. The following members cannot vote: associate, institutional, retired, and international. To learn more about the business meeting process, please watch the interview that Jimmy Beldon conducted with parliamentarian Libby Pollard. Thank you for being a member and we can’t wait to see you all in Portland this October.
