English Version
Hello CIT Members. I am Jessica Bentley-Sassaman, the CIT President.
Our conference in Minneapolis, MN on August 12-15, 2020 is rapidly approaching. This year’s theme is “Transforming Interpreter Education” and we wanted to think about how to have our conference take a different approach.
Traditionally, our conferences have had an opening keynote, plenary session presentations, and an endnote. This year, we will have conference facilitators who will guide us through the conference. The opening session will include a brief time of presentation – and then opportunity for attendees to dialogue with one another. Each day, they will gather themes from the sessions and provide a session at the end of the day to frame a session for thinking about how all of this leads to transformation. At the end, they will have a final session that incorporates the entire conference experience.
Our guides in this will be Jeff Lewis and Niesha Washington-Shephard. (You can learn more about them below.)
We are excited to see how this will help us both transform interpreter education and our approach to CIT conferences.
