Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of the faculty and staff in Department of Interpretation at Gallaudet University, I am pleased to announce the second Symposium on Signed Language Interpretation and Translation Research. The Symposium will be held on March 31-April 2, 2017 at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. Please see the poster to the left.
The purpose of the Symposium is to promote the exchange of scholarship on signed language interpretation and translation as well as provide a platform for interdisciplinary research various disciplines including linguistics, communication, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and education. The Symposium is a unique forum for scholars and students from around the world to convene at Gallaudet University to share our research with one another. We received incredibly positive feedback from the first Symposium and are excited to be hosting the second event!
We hope you will hold the date in your calendar. More news will be forthcoming soon, including information about a pre-conference on Deaf translation, the call for proposals, the Selected Papers volume, and much more!
Please feel free to forward this email to your students or others who are interested in signed language interpretation and translation research.
We look forward to seeing you at the 2017 Symposium!
