International Journal of Interpreter Education
The next issue of the IJIE, Volume 5 (2) will be released next month, in November. The journal has been full of valuable information, research and insights. Many thanks to Jemina Napier for her amazing work, our copy editor, Serena Krombach, and the entire editorial board. Look for an email announcing the release of the next issue of the journal sometime next month. Remember, as a CIT member, you also have access to all past issues of the journal online, as well as all past conference proceedings. You can also pay a nominal printing fee to get a printed copy of the journal mailed to you. Visit the CIT website (www.cit-asl.org) for access to this wealth of information and history.
Transition
The position of Director of Research in Publications is currently in transition. Annette Miner is leaving the position and is in process of transitioning it to Kimberly Hale. Kimberly was one of the members of the Journal Committee, which eventually helped establish the International Journal of Interpreter Education. She has already begun working with CIT’s new database to streamline the library subscription process. She plans to carry on the vision for the journal, which includes determining a process for signed language submissions. Other goals are to make publications such as the journal, the CIT News, CIT News Briefs, and conference proceedings more accessible to members. We also want to explore how to use our publications as a way to attract new members.
