News from the |
Greetings,
RID is soon to be embarking on test development, including a Job Task Analysis, for a revised generalist exam. The NTFDBI, along with the RID Deaf-Blind Member Section (DBMS), is soliciting your input. Should DeafBlind interpreting be included on the new exam? If so, what information is relevant for inclusion? Should there be a separate, specialty exam? This is a critical juncture for our field and will affect interpreter education, as will the inclusion of DeafBlind interpreting in the new CCIE standards, and we invite all of you to join in this important discussion. A Google Group has been set up for discussion of DeafBlind interpreting, and we will be using this as a venue to discuss this topic as well as other relevant topics. To be added to this group, please send a request to info@deafblindinterpreting.org.
In addition to the above topic, a second thread has been posted on Pro-Tactile and Haptics. Please join the discussion as we all learn what’s new, interact with people who have experienced these, ask questions and share ideas.
As a reminder, NTFDBI also has a Google Group on DeafBlind Interpreting Education, which we expect to become more active with the adoption of the revised CCIE standards. Please let us know if you would like to join this group as well.
Looking forward to the discussions!
