Meeting Minutes December 9, 2015

The meeting was called to order at 7:16 pm

• November minutes postpone to Jan.
• President’s report
  1. Summit Conference – CIT wants to initiate this Summit with RID, NAD, Naomi, Mano a Mano, ASLTA, NBDA, etc. and have two representatives from each organization o attend. Focus on partnerships, interpreter education, recruitment and certification
  2. Reminder – CIT news please record and translate your newsletter

 

• Vice President’s report – bylaws. Jimmy has signed the video and has the old, new, and highlighted bylaws. He will have information about the vote time line as well. Members have to join by December 31 in order to vote.

 

• Secretary’s report – review of action items.

 

• Treasurer’s report – update on money in the account.

 

• Directors’ reports
  1. Professional Development’s report
     1. We are still in the process of collecting pictures and bios from our key presenters.
     2. Conference registration will begin in January 2016.

• Linda Bozeman is currently writing a grant for sponsoring our international keynote speaker. Data collection for her grant was done.

1. The next task is to create an Excel of hotel registrants
2. Banquet entertainment contacts.
   1. Now committee is contacting performers for the conference
   2. The board gave more names for possible performers
3. Public Relations and Outreach’s report
   1. Research component for CIT’s website – for students who want to conduct surveys for their research.
