Position Description

A one-year term instructor appointment beginning August 1, 2021.  This position is renewable based on the needs of the program.

The Department of Classical & Modern Languages’ American Sign Language Interpreting Studies program at the University of Louisville invites applicants for full-time Term Instructor appointment. As part of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department offers a Bachelor of Science in American Sign Language Interpreting Studies. The ASL faculty teach all levels of ASL to a diverse student body using an immersive approach. Full-time faculty are expected to teach, assess; communicate effectively through ASL and written English; participate in department, division, and college-wide committees; and engage in ongoing professional development, including equity training. 

We seek applicants prepared to teach face-to-face undergraduate courses who are committed to teaching excellence, program and curriculum development, leadership, and collaboration with faculty, staff, and community partners. Active engagement with the Deaf community is expected.  This position is subject to final budget approval.
