Instructor Educator Faculty Position
American Sign Language & Deaf Studies Program

The School of Education in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invites applications for a full-time Instructor Educator with primary responsibilities in the American sign Language (ASL) & Deaf Studies program.  The position is expected to begin August 15, 2021.

Instructor Educators are faculty with the responsibility of providing quality learning experiences for University of Cincinnati students, and are to perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the School of Education. Faculty members report to the School of Education Director.  The successful candidate will: be experienced in teaching undergraduate ASL and Deaf Studies courses using face-to-face and online learning methods and using a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course, such as cooperative learning, experiential learning, and critical thinking and reflective practices; be familiar with Canvas as a Learning Management System (LMS); have experience with the Signing Naturally curriculum; be prepared to contribute to program development and implementation; be committed to maintaining the academic integrity of the unit, college, and university; have the ability to differentiate for and support diverse learning needs; be willing to take on leadership roles within the program, as needed; support data collection and reporting needs; be able to work collaboratively with colleagues within the program and across the unit; and perform other duties as assigned.
