The ASL and Interpreting Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full time, temporary position. This is a one-year contract, with the option of renewal for a second year.  Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
We seek creative, collaborative faculty dedicated to excellent teaching and scholarly activity in the field of teaching American Sign Language (ASL)/English Interpreting.   The School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences invites applicants for a full-time, temporary contract, ranked faculty position with the American Sign Language & Interpreting Department beginning in Fall 2019, pending budget approval. This is a one-year contract, with the option of renewal for a second year.  Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities:

Teach six undergraduate ASL courses per year; advise students; curriculum revision for courses taught; mentoring of students in program sponsored projects; scholarly presentations and publications and department/university service.

Required qualifications:

MA in Interpreting or related field; a minimum of 3 years post-secondary level teaching experience; national interpreting credentials.

Preferred:

Ph.D. in Interpreting, ASL Studies, Deaf Studies, Curriculum and Instruction, Linguistics, Education or related fields; experience in assessment, distance learning, curriculum development, and teaching experience with adult learners.
