Non-Tenure Track Faculty ~ ASL/English Interpreting Programs
Western Oregon University seeks qualified applicants with experience in interpreter education for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position with a 12-credit load per quarter in the graduate Interpreting Studies and undergraduate ASL/English Interpreting programs. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses, both online and on campus, in the growing MA in Interpreting Studies program and will teach campus-based and/or online undergraduate courses focusing on ASL/English Interpreting. Other responsibilities may include student advising, alternative calendar/off-campus teaching, program development and coordination, graduate thesis supervision and project supervision, clinical supervision, teaching condensed courses in the summer, and committee work as required by the union contract.
Masters degree in applicable field, national interpreting certification (e.g. CDI, CI and CT; NIC; Ed:k-12), postsecondary interpreting teaching experience, and online education experience are all required.
