Job Summary/Basic Function: Strategic administrative leadership and oversight of the DO IT Center that designs, develops, and delivers ASL and Interpreting programs, which include undergraduate and graduate academic programs, offered in traditional on-campus and online formats. Solicit and implement federal grant-funded programs. Plan and manage multiple budgets, HR processes, reporting and other associated responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
This full-time 12-month tenure-track position requires an earned doctorate in interpreting, linguistics, education, or an appropriately related field from an accredited university; a minimum of five years of educational administration; three years of relevant teaching experience; and three years of experience in distance-delivered instruction. Evidence of strategic planning, budget management, HR processes, reporting functions, and other associated responsibilities are expected. Qualified applicants are expected to document: (a) nationally recognized professional credentials in the field of interpreting and/or ASL instruction; (b) quality scholarship; (c) prior grant writing and management experience; (d) service to the university, and/or the field of ASL instruction and/or interpreter education; (e) national and/or state leadership experience; (f) a student-centered focus; and, (g) a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exemplary writing, verbal and presentation communication (e.g., English and American Sign Language) and exceptional interpersonal skills are critical for this position as collaborations across the university and the nation are a vital component of the DO IT Center’s work. As part of this skill set, staff development and team building experiences are sought since online academic programs and federal grants typically engage individuals from around the US. In addition, the ability to organize and facilitate small and large conferences, learning events, and projects is valuable. Experience conducting action research is also highly desirable; as is a familiarity with the CCIE accreditation expectations and procedures. Finally, a sophisticated knowledge of technology applications, particularly Blackboard, in educational programs will be necessary.
Position Description:
The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a full-time 12-month Associate Professor & Director position that is primarily administrative in nature but will have teaching responsibilities. The position does include an expectation of summer employment. Primary responsibilities are the strategic administrative leadership and oversight of the DO IT Center. The current academic program offerings are (a) the ASL 1-4 liberal arts core series, (b) the online BA in ASL-English Interpretation, and (c) the online MA in Teaching ASL ( In the fall of 2016, the newly approved ASL minor and a traditional on-campus BA in ASL-English Interpretation on the Greeley campus will also be implemented. This position requires extensive interactions with community stakeholders (i.e., Deaf Community, interpreters, state and professional agencies), as well as internal collaborative opportunities that exist with other schools and their respective faculty as well as the university community at large. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct and publish research, as well as participate in national, state, College, and University-wide professional activities.
