Primary Purpose
Teach American Sign Language classes and related courses for majors and non-majors.
Represent the Sign Language Studies and Sign Language Interpreting programs on the Pocatello campus.

Key Responsibilities
Teach classes in American Sign Language and related courses for Sign Language Studies and Sign Language Interpreting programs (80%); Advise undergraduate students (5%); Represent Sign Language Studies and Sign Language Interpreting programs on Pocatello campus; Participate in Department and Program faculty meetings and committee work (7.5%); Professional service and scholarly activity as appropriate to rank and experience (7.5%).
Minimum Qualifications
Earned Bachelor’s degree in ASL or related field; Native or near native proficiency in ASL; Potential and interest to become ASLTA Certified; Potential for excellence in teaching; Ability to pass criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in American Sign Language or related field; Two years or more experience teaching at college or university level (online or on-campus); Ability to work independently; Strong organizational skills; Demonstrated success in interdisciplinary collaborative situations; Experience or interest in curriculum development and accreditation process.
