This information is to provide details about the proceedings submission guidelines. It was stated in the Call for Presentations that all selected speakers are expected to submit a proceedings paper – either in written English or ASL. Therefore, each conference presentation should submit to the proceedings. Presenters may choose to submit in ASL, English, or both. When a presenter chooses to submit in both languages for the same presentation, both submissions should be included in one correspondence with the editors.
Abstracts
Conference program book abstracts (English) will be included in the proceedings for each presentation. If you would like to change the abstract that you submitted in the Call for Presentations, please send the edited text by email with the subject line “Edited Abstract” be sure to include the presenter(s) names and the title of the presentation in the text of the email.
Quality Requirements
Submissions to the CIT Conference Proceedings should be of high academic quality. Simplistic visual presentations will not be published. Specific criteria for publication are provided below.
Editors will review submissions and suggest revisions in several areas: organization, language use, content, and formatting.
- Organization generally refers to an easily discernible organizational structure such as: introduction, logically, and clearly sequenced material with effective transitions, and conclusion.
- Language use refers to academic language (formal/consultative register) including sentence structure, grammar, spelling, punctuation/discourse markers, and word choice that are intentional and help strengthen the overall submission.
- Content and ideas presented should demonstrate analysis with sufficient depth and breadth including supporting evidence, examples, and/or scholarly sources.
- Formatting must adhere to standards of quality based on either ASL or English submission criteria and templates.
Written English Submission
Submissions should be emailed directly to the proceedings editors at proceedings@cit-asl.org with the title of the presentation in the subject line. Supporting images (if needed) should be submitted in the same email as uncompressed JPEG files.
English Template
Attached, you will find a template that must be used for submission to the CIT Conference Proceedings. Guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th Edition should be followed. Submissions not in the template will not be published.
