Jessica Bentley-Sassaman, the Director of Membership for CIT, suggests to the field the importance of expanding our understanding of who an “interpreter educator” is beyond the walls of the classroom.  As part of StreetLeverage’s Interpreter Education month, this article provides an important rationale both for how all of us who contribute to the professional development of interpreters (whether professors, colleagues, mentors, Deaf community, or researchers) should embrace our role as an educator.
