Call for Volunteers:
Interpreting Students/Deaf Individuals
The Conference of Interpreter Trainers is seeking the assistance of interpreting students and Deaf individuals from the local community to volunteer at our CIT Conference this fall. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet renowned presenters, researchers and authors, instructors, and mentors, and take part in exciting activities. Volunteers will have a chance to experience working in various aspects of the conference. Snacks will be available and hotel parking will be reimbursed (but please carpool if possible). Compensation for room, meals, and travel will not be provided.
Requirements for consideration:
- Students who are currently enrolled in an Interpreter Education Program
- Deaf individuals who are active in the Kentucky Deaf community
- Possess effective communication skills (ASL/English)
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Time commitment: Tuesday, October 25, 2014 to Sunday, October 30, 2016
- Time slots can be arranged to fit your schedule. The Conference begins at 8:00 am and ends at 10:00 pm

- Your name and email address
- Introduce yourself and discuss why you would like to become a volunteer
- Briefly explain your qualifications in regards to your:
- ASL and English Communication Skills
- Personal characteristics (i.e. etiquette, responsibility, commitment, etc.)
- Professional characteristics (i.e. managing stress, time managements, prioritization, etc.)
